Steps to Completion

Phase 1

Research

  • Gather information to complete the Research List.

    • Be detailed! You will be presenting this information using photos, videos and music.

Big Leaf

Select destinations (countries, geographic features, cultural attractions, etc) to represent each of the Five Themes of Geography!

Phase 2

Preparation

  • Select a medium with which you will create your virtual field trip.

    • Google Slides, Prezi, Video maker, etc….

  • Collect photos, videos, websites, documents, and audio to represent each piece of information (or combine some pieces of information) in the Research List.

    • This information will be turned into your VFT.

  • Map out your VFT on a posterboard to have a solid guide for your work.

    • List information that will be represented on each slide. Beside it, write down what specific media you are going to use as representation.

    • You will probably want to have 1 notecard per slide as well. You will be able to give a small introduction with facts/information for each stop on the field trip.

    • You may have another note card as a smooth transition between 1 stop of the field trip and another...transitions should be seamless.

Phase 3

Production

  • Begin to assemble your VFT in the chosen medium. Refer to the list below as you do.

  • There must be a minimum of 15 actual exhibit/stop slides.

    • This does not include title or citation slides.

  • Your presentation must have an appropriate theme and colors with easily readable text.

  • The very last slide will be a citation slide (APA format for citations).

  • Your presentation must include the following media, at least:

    • 2 video clips of 1 minute or less

    • 10 photographs
